Often referred to, as "Fellowship activities", this program is designed for our youth 18 years and older, who have a strong sense of independence and are looking for a space to hang out with friends on Friday or Saturday nights - just like any other young adult! Fellowship youth even have a hand in devising their own programming at the bi-yearly potluck dinner and brainstorming sessions.
The adults of Fellowship will learn the social dynamics of the adult world, and how to thrive therein. This program strives to foster an independent development of social thinking and does so in a natural social environment. The freedom of Fellowship programming encourages youth to learn to engage in social settings without facilitation, and to garner the skills necessary to meet one's social recreational needs as young adults entirely on their own. In the end, the goal is that these members will learn how to spend time socially with their friends without needing the help of AAFS.
