Notice of the Annual General Meeting of the Autism Aspergers Friendship Society of Calgary (AAFS)

Dear Members of AAFS,  

This is to advise you of the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the members of AAFS. The details of this meeting are as follows: 

At the conclusion of our AGM, we will hear from a few of AAFS Community Partners on the amazing work they are doing in our community. There will also be some sweets and treats from our amazing VAULT Day Program crew!

Attached are:

• the agenda for the AGM 

• the minutes of the last AGM

At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to: 

• find out about AAFS operations and finances

• ask questions about the operations and finances 

• speak about any items on the agenda

• vote on any resolutions proposed

At the meeting, members will be asked to vote to:

• accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting 

• accept the auditor’s report

• accept the annual financial statements

• appoint an auditor

• elect the slate of directors

• approve a proposed bylaw amendment

9. Motion to amend the bylaws Item #9 regarding quorum on board meetings:

Current bylaw reads: Any four Board members shall constitute a quorum, and meetings shall be held without notice if a quorum of the board is present, provided however that any business transactions at such meeting shall be ratified at the next regularly called meeting of the Board, otherwise they shall be null and void.

MOTION: To change bylaw #9 to: Quorum for a board meeting shall be a simple majority of all board members. Meetings may proceed without a quorum, but no motions or business transactions may occur.
